Pneumoccocal jab

Yesterday yu-qi went for her second dose of pneumococcal jab at SBCC. Mummy was glad to see the improvement of yu-qi’s weight where she weighs 8.1kg as at 9mths 1 wk. As for her height, she is 70.5cm long. Both are in the 50th percentile, so there is no worry for mummy cause mummy always felt that she is petite as compared to me (fyi, I am always on the 95 percentile) :-)
Hmm, did she cry during the jab? Yes, but just for a quick 5 seconds cause Dr Ong’s clinic has bubbles stand by! Once Dr Ong finished the jab, he immediately blows the bubbles and yu-qi seems to be forgotten about the pain after seeing the bubbles! Good idea , Dr Ong :)

Photoshooting

Recently mummy signed up a photo shooting package for yu-qi from Sean Lau Photography and we were there on Thursday for the shoot. Mummy make sure yu-qi had a good rest and is well-fed before the shoot so that she can be in her best mood. But the shoot is not as smooth as mummy had thought because yu-qi is super sticky to daddy, mummy and kakak! Once she is being left alone (even though daddy and mummy is still within her sight), she will cry, she will also crawl away the scene and it is so hard to captured her with a decent smile! Therefore mummy let her nap in between the shooting and hopefully she will be better.
During her nap, it became my turn for the shoot ( fyi, uncle Sean is doing shooting mainly for yu-qi which means I am only the 配角) but I guess that he is trying to balance out due to yu-qi’s crankiness.
After yu-qi’s nap, she still remains the same, a sticky baby. Mummy said she just hope that there will have some decent pictures of her.
Overall the shooting is fun, and I am sure that daddy, mummy and kakak are super tiring cause they have to sing, clap and play throughout the shooting so as to captured yu-qi’s attention. I had a great fun with Uncle Sean during the shooting as well and when we about to leave, I even tell Uncle Sean that I will come again tomorrow k :-)

Playground

Yesterday was the first day we went to the playground since H1N1 started. All along we have been cycling outside our house during the evening time, and when mummy said let’s go to the playground, I am so happy and quickly put on my sandals and get ready. As usual, Yu-qi is happy and excited once we stepped out the door. Look at yu-qi, she is so happy when slides down because this is her 1st time sitting on a slides! And guess what, again there are adults asking me whether am I a boy or girl at the playground! Haiz, sometimes just couldn’t understand can’t they differentiate the gender by the dressing?

Farmart and Qian Hu Fish Farm

It has been years since daddy and mummy’s last visit to Farmart Centre. (Think it was during their dating times) So daddy suggested having a walk there because I love animals. I get to see quite a number of animals such as puppies, frog, tortoises and fishes. Oh ya, I saw parrots too and mummy actually let the parrots stands on her fingers! Qi-qi was amazed by the parrots and keeps looking at it.

As most of you know that I love to eat eggs, so daddy bought me some tea leaf quail egg. It was small and yummy, just like those (lu3 dan4) smell!

After visited Farmart, we proceed to Qian Hu Fish Farm for a walk. When i saw jie-jies and gor-gors catching the lonkang fish at the Agro-Education Center, i told daddy yu-fei wants to catch fish too :-)

I find this kiddy rides is classic because it looks old and also there is mandarin words written instead of English.

My dear qi-qi

When we asked yu-qi "where is your tougue", this is what she showed us!
And recently, she can claps when we sing “ if you happy and you know it clap your hands”,
raise both her hands up when we sing "if you happy and you know it shout huray", &
stamp her feet when we sing "if you happy and you know it stamp your feet". And also she likes to imitate us recently. This morning when i was coughing, she looks at me and pause for a while and imitate me cough!! It was so fun seeing her imitate us. Mummy will try to record down if she has the chance :)

Yu-qi looks chubby in these pictures, isn’t it?

Yu-qi is 9 mths old..

Time flies, Yu-Qi turn 9 months old on Tuesday and there are some changes for qi-qi's milk intake recently. She has been on partial formula since she is 8.5mths old and the reason is because mummy had no choice but to wean her off bf due to some health reasons.

Initially it was stressful for mummy cause qi-qi simply refused formula at all! Mummy gave her Similac initially and she give the "want to puke" face to mummy and simply shut her mouth. So mummy change to another brand named Enfapro and hopes that she will drink. But this is not the case, she also shut her mouth once she taste the formula and mummy had no choice but to feed her when she is in sleeping mode. This way, she will finished her milk.
But mummy is worried that what if she don't accept formula? How to feed her when she is awake? So mummy search the web, ask the PDs, fellow mummies for advise and was told to mixed formula with breast milk for baby. But mummy try not to mix cause it will be wasted if qi-qi does not finish the milk or refused totally. So mummy continue to give her formula once a day and gradually increase to 2, 3 times a day. And surprisingly after almost 2 weeks of time, qi-qi finally able to accept formula! She can finished her formula milk when she is wide awake!

Phew, mummy's worried was gone and she has stop pumping since yesterday. That means mummy will have more time for her beauty sleep which she seriously lack of since having qi-qi (hmm, i think should be since having me!) and also have more time to spend with us!

East Coast Park

East coast park, i am here again! We went there on Sunday and there were so many people, majority of them were there for camping. Daddy rent a bicycle with a seat for me and i refused to sit on it initially, but after a while, i simply loves it and refused to let qi-qi sit on it! Daddy rides me along the park and i saw a few aunties even bring the sarong (yao lan) to the park and swing their babies! It was amazing right?

Can i have some cold chrysanthemum please, daddy?
Seeing me asking so politely, of course my daddy let me drink! I know how to ask politely nowadays, all thanks to my mummy, kakak and my teachers for their guidance!

Qi-qi enjoyed outing very much! She is excited the moment we open the door and more excited when we go in the cars!! She will lean her whole body towards the car, afraid that we will leave her behind! And whenever qi-qi is out, her nap time will go haywire! Even when is really sleepy, she still can go w/o any nap when she is outside!

Hey, mei-mei, this is my sunglass u know? Qi-qi refused to wear the sunglass and she keep taking off. Kakak has to hold her hands so that mummy can take a picture of her wearing the sunglass. I can see that she hates it!

And now is qi-qi's turn for the bicycle rides. Actually daddy couldn't give her a ride cause she will move around and the seat belt is too lose for her. So daddy can only "walk" with her.. She enjoyed playing the bell and keep laughing when daddy ring the bell :)

Nice outing overall and both me and mei-mei are super tired. The moment we get in the car, both of us fall asleep after having our milk!

My new hair cut

Most of you would know that i would not go for hair cut no matter how hard you tried to please me. My last hair cut was about 8 months ago and recently, i heard many people asking mummy or asking me am i a boy or a girl :) So daddy and mummy decided that now is the time to bring me to a hair salon.
Prior to my hair cut day, daddy and mummy told me repeatedly that i will be going for a hair cut by Aunty Desaree, who is also daddy's hair stylist. They also told me that after i had my hair cut, Aunty Desaree will give me a Lego car/fire truck, which is my favourite toy. So i agreed and keep telling Ah-ma and Tai-ma that yu-fei wants to go for hair cut :)

While on the way to the hair salon, i fall asleep in the car and both daddy and mummy was happy cause they thought i would continue to sleep so that i can have my hair cut peacefully. But the minute kakak carry me, i woke up immediately and when we walk towards the hair salon, i starts to said no, i don't want to cut hair! ( Fyi, i've been to the salon a few times and i can recognised the place!) I keep saying i don't want to cut hair and daddy warm me up by standing outside the salon and look at others having their hair cut. Mummy know for sure that i wouldn't co-operate so she suggest to daddy to get some toys and passed to Aunty Desaree. And when is my turn, guess what? I cried and yell and struggle all the way! No choice, daddy and mummy just hold me tight and let me cry so that i can have my hair cut! There are tears, sweats and anger from me and the funny thing is i keep saying it is painful, i don't want to cut hair. I also told daddy that please bring yu-fei home cause yu-fei wants to sleep and also told him to sayang me when i cried. Guess these are some of my tricks cause i know how to give excuses now at the years of 2.5.

Mummy wants to record the ugly scene but she has no time to record at all! So can u imagine how bad the situation is and also it is really challenging for Aunty Desaree to cut my hair! Fyi, my hair cut is not complete due to my struggling/yelling and crying constantly :)
